Tim Anderson Has Message For Fans After Unfortunate Suspension

Chicago White Sox star shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended for six games by Major League Baseball for his role in a fight with Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Guardians earlier this month.

Anderson's suspension was reduced to five games on Thursday, but the White Sox star took some time to issue an apology for his actions that led to the ban.

"I want to apologize to the entire White Sox organization, my teammates,

manager and coaches and to the fans for my part in the altercation which took place in Cleveland," Anderson said in a statement.

Anderson acknowledged that the season has been a disappointment for both him and the team as a whole.

"I will not get into the things that were said to me by Cleveland players both Friday night and Saturday,

but those comments do not excuse my language or conduct, and I take full responsibility for my actions getting the better of me," Anderson continued.

He noted that the Cleveland players were able to say what they want about him, but that "no one has more respect for the game of baseball than me."

Anderson will begin serving his suspension tomorrow night when the White Sox play the Colorado Rockies. He'll be eligible to return for the series finale against the Seattle Mariners at home on Wednesday.
