Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Leaves Preseason Game On A Stretcher

Few sights in football are scarier than seeing a player go down and stay down for so long that a stretcher is needed for them.

But the scariness gets cranked up to 11 when it's a quarterback leaving in such a manner.

That was what happened to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback John Wolford during today's preseason game against the New York Jets.

In the third quarter, Wolford took a big sack but was taken to the ground very awkwardly.

To everyone's concern, Wolford could not get up. While he had movement in his extremities,

he was clearly in agony and every member of both the Bucs and the Jets started crowding around him to offer their support.

Wolford was eventually placed onto a stretcher and taken out of the game.

He has since been diagnosed with a neck injury and has been transported to a local hospital.
