How Oklahoma, Texas Would Have Voted For SEC Schedule

The SEC reached a decision on its 2024 football schedule on Thursday.

The league will adopt an eight-game conference schedule without divisions when It welcomes both Texas and Oklahoma next year.

The old schedule was also eight games, but saw teams play six games in their division and two games out of it.

The new schedule features one permanent opponent and seven rotating opponents.

As Texas and Oklahoma are still in the Big 12 for one more year, they didn't have a vote in the schedule

One reporter was able to receive some information on how the two schools would have voted.

According to the Action Network's Brett McMurphy, Oklahoma and Texas would have voted for a nine-game conference schedule in 2024.

That would have been in line with what SEC commissioner Greg Sankey appeared to prefer, with Sankey hinting that the conference could adopt it in the future.
