Former College Football Star, Colts Wide Receiver Dead At 52

The football world lost a beloved figure when a former player passed away this week.

Sean Dawkins, a wide receiver who played a significant part of his career with the Indianapolis Colts,

died this week according to multiple reports. He was 52 years old.

Colts owner Jim Irsay confirmed Dawkins' passing in a message on social media.

"Rest in peace, Sean Dawkins. I am shocked and saddened. My prayers and condolences to Sean’s family," he said.

Born in New Jersey, Dawkins' family relocated to California where he turned into a star wide receiver during his high school days.

He eventually joined the Cal Bears football team and kept his dominance at the position going.

Dawkins earned consensus All-American honors as a junior in 1992 after being a key player on the 1990 and 1991 Cal teams that racked up a record of 17-6-1 and won two bowl games.
