College Football Freshman Passes Away In Single-Car Crash

Tragedy has struck the Austin Peay Governors football program as freshman Jeremiah Collins lost his life in a car crash. He was 18 years old.

According to the Associated Press via ESPN, Collins suffered a single-car crash near the school's campus in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said that Collins was driving too fast

while exiting a highway and his pickup truck rolled several times before coming to rest in a grassy area.

Per the statement Collins showed no signs of impairment.

The Governors have released a statement mourning the loss of Collins.

Director of athletics Gerald Harrison and head coach Scotty Walden have offered their support to Collins' family.
