Chargers, Justin Herbert Agree To Contract Extension Making Him Highest-Paid Player

The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed to a blockbuster contract extension with franchise quarterback Justin Herbert.

Herbert, who's entering his fourth NFL season, has agreed to five-year, $262.5 million deal through the 2029 season, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

This deal solidifies Herbert as the team's quarterback of the future before the start of training camp on Wednesday.

Herbert, 25, has separated himself as one of the best young quarterbacks in the league.

Through his first three seasons, the former No. 6 overall draft pick has thrown for 14,089 yards and 94 touchdowns on a 66.9 completion percentage.
