ACC Reportedly Decides On Potentially Adding Cal, Stanford

The ACC has been rumored to have an interest in the ongoing realignment taking place in college sports.

The conference has reportedly been interested in two of the four remaining Pac-12 members, Cal and Stanford

As the ACC prioritizes athletics and academics, adding Cal and Stanford seems like a pretty good idea.

On Wednesday evening, the conference has reportedly come to a decision on potentially adding the two schools.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, ACC presidents say the pursuit of Cal and Stanford has "hit significant roadblocks."

Thamel says that adding Cal and Stanford was always a distant possibility due to there not being a significant value add for the conference.

Stanford and Cal would have extended the ACC's presence to the west coast, but it would have also possibly created logistical issues.

California is three hours behind the largely southeastern-based ACC, making early start times for those two schools nearly impossible to schedule.
